Easy Payments for restitution, bad checks or delinquent taxes

The Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in 1978 was the first to establish a Prosecutor based Victim/Witness unit in the State of Missouri. A comprehensive program of services is supported by the entire office staff, including: attorneys, paralegals and clerical. Services are provided primarily to victims and witnesses of crimes committed in Buchanan County.

Dwight K. ScrogginsWelcome to our website!

This was created to be helpful to the citizens of Buchanan County in having access and input to the way in which your County Prosecutor’s office works. There are three beliefs that drive how we strive to serve you. I would like to share and briefly discuss those ideals.

Mission Statement: "To Accomplish the Most Caring and Effective Use of Finite Resources Upon an Infinite Problem."

We have a certain amount of resources. We have an endless number of cases presented to us. We constantly strive to do the most work possible for the citizens of Buchanan County with those limited resources. We treat all cases, big and small, with the same caring attitude.

No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.

We understand that in our position, the most important thing we do is care. We care about each victim in every case and that should be always evident in our actions.

Safeguarding the rights of others is the most noble and beautiful end of a human being. - Kahlil Gibran

Our commitment is to do everything possible to help crime victims and their families through a very difficult time. We are sorry they have become crime victims. What has happened is not their fault. We try to do anything within our power to be of assistance to them.
